She said the owners stood up in her wedding and that we could not sell her picture, so we gave it to her.” Ignatowski said a highlight of the auction was when they were getting ready to open, “A woman came in and found her wedding picture was among the items up for sale. Children’s toys included a baby carriage with heavy porcelain dolls, a ride-on dog toy, scooters, four-wheeled child’s cart and an old ride-in child’s car. There were tables of cookbooks, old magazines, catalogs and board games. Throughout the building, Iggy’s found old advertising, toys, pictures, furniture and more. “We were not thrilled about having to carry up a very old, very heavy fridge, but when we went to move it, we found two 30-gallon Redwing crocks,” Ignatowski said. Ignatowski found a lot of hidden antiques in the basement. There was no paperwork found that reflected the dance hall ever technically opened back up when prohibition was lifted, but according to Ignatowski, it may have been in operation up to 75 years ago. ![]() The hall closed during prohibition in 1919. Ignatowski and his crew found many liquor licenses, including one from 1919 which was auctioned off as well. The bottles in the boxes dated as far back as 1910. ![]()
